Mr Harry N. Holmes, 0.8. E., F.R.G.S., who is to visit Palmerston North this week, had the dramatic experience of being torpedoed in the Irish Sea in 1918 while returning to France from England. He spent four years in France during the war in charge of Y\M.C.A. work in the Ypres salient.
