MANAWATU HUNT.
MEETING OF COMMITTEE.
A moeting of the committee of the Manawatu Hunt was held on Saturday evening, Mr D. B. McEwen presiding. There were also prosent: Messrs L. 1L Collinson, W. Scott, W. W. Andrews, W. G. Shaimon, E. L. Olliver, O. V. Shannon, J. Shaw, E. K. Mander, W. F. Gilhgan, H. R. Lancaster, A. Balmor, H. Bcatson, S. Taylor and S. Lodge. . The secretary (Mr W. McKenzie) reported that, in consequence of the very inclement weather, tho hunt to have been held that day at Mr W.’ G. Fry s, Punga Iwi, Feilding, had been postponed till next Wednesday. , The club’s pack of hounds was reported by the 6ub-committee set up for the purpose to bo most satisfactory, the new huntsman, Mr J. J. Waller, thus having a good start in this respect. . Correspondence from the Racing Conference, etc., was dealt with, while a number of new members were elected. In connection with the steeplechase meeting, Messrs J. Cameron and R. E. Hatch were appointed judge and starter respectively. These appointments are subject, of course, to the Hunt itself carrying out the next steeplechase meeting. The following further hunt fixtures were arranged: _ . • May 20, at Mr W. G. Fry’s, Punga Iwi, Feilding (hare hunting) _ . May 27, Rangitikei lino (throw off at Flaxbourne, drag). , May 30, at Mrs Perry s, Kiwitea, (hares). Juno 3, Cheltenham (hares). Juho 6, Kairanga (drag). , June 9 and 10 or 10 and 11, Foxton (drag). Juno 13, Raumai (drag). June 24, Parorangi (hares). June 27, Aokautere (drag). July 4,' Mrs Shannon s, senr., Flaxbourne. . . , The committee will meet again shortly to appoint sub-committees to carry out arrangements for the annual ball, to bB held on July 17 •
