HOCKEY

All hockey at Feilding on Saturday was played in Victoria Park. Only one game was played in the ladies’ section, that between iligh School Old Girls’ and High School. This was fairly slack n the lirst half, Theo Knyvett, scoring the only goal for High School Old Girls. In the second half, however, things brightened up considerably and the game became very fast and expiring, the forwards doing good work. Higli School scored three goals, Alay Cocks contributing two ind Cathie Gifford one Tho game ended in High School s favour by three goals to one. Air Mingins and Mr Le Brin refereed.
in the men’s section two games wore played, one between Marto.i and Pirates and the other between YY r esleys and Pakehas. The former match was won by Pirates by four goals to th -ee.’ The scorers wore: Pirates, Jenkins Z, Amos 1; Marton, Porter 1, Gorrie 1 and Brown 1. Air Heardman was referee.
The YY’esley-Pakehas gamp_ wis won by the YVesley team by 6 goals to 3. The referee was Mr Mingins.
