MAN SHOT DEAD.
DISTURBANCE OUTSIDE HOTEL. Received May 18, 10.35 a.m. . MELBOURNE, May 18. ' As the result of a disturbance outside the United States Hotel, Carlton. John Henry Docldii, aged 42, died fro-n: a bullet wound in the head. Jack Maxwell O’Shea, die licensee, ban beer arrested on a chargeof murder. According to a statement by O’Shea, he and another man heard sounds oi men attempting to break: a back gate. They saw one man climbing the gate and the others assisting. O’Shea fired a shot from a revolver, intending tc frighten them, but the man on the gate fell off. The men scattered when the police arrived and escaped.—Press Association.
