THE ROYAL SHOW.

ITS FUTURE LOCATION. IVLkSTERTON, May 15. The future location of New Zealand’s Royal Agricultural Show was mentioned at a meeting of the Masterton A. andP. Association to-day by Mr W. Perry (president of the Royal Society). In replying to a suggestion that, for tho next few years the Royal Show should be held alternately in Palmerston North and Christchurch, Mr Perry told the meeting that applications had been received by the Royal Society fronp Auckland and Hamilton for the 1926 show, and these would be dealt with at tho coming meeting in Wellington. So far, the northern, people had not * made a very big effort, and it was hard to say what they were prepared to do in the way of financing the show, accommodating the public and competing stock. If they produced strong claims with adequate facilities, it would be difficult to go past them, but, speaking from his own experience, Mr Perry did not think that Auckland had accommodation for the stock, or that Hamilton had it for the people. Under these circumstances he considered that it must go back to Palmerston North. It had been mooted that the Wairarapa and Masterton associations should amalgamate for tho show in a few years’ time, but here, too,' the accommodation difficulty was present. Any district wanting the show would have to present a very sound case before getting it. Commenting on the forthcoming show at Christchurch, Mr Perry said that there was no doubt that it was going to be a wonderful . exhibition. Mr W. D. Hunt (treasurer of the Royal Society) considered that it was going to be the finest show of sheep, especially long wools, ever held in the world.
