LADY HARROWBY’S' APPEAL. MARKETS AND MIGRATION. LONDON, April 22. Supporting Lady Harrowby’s plea that the British housewife should insist on I'eceiviiig Empire products wherever possible, thereby combining economic prudence with the fexercise of a proper Imperial sentiment, the Australia!. High Commissioner, Sir Joseph Ccok, in a letter to the Times, emphasises the importance of tho connection between migration and marketing. Sir Joseph points out that Australia’s capacity to absorb new settlers is in direct proportion to her ability to find stabilised markets for the resultant increased production, and declares: “Effective markets for Dominion prodv.ee will mean effective emigration, which would greatly relieve Britain’s unemployment and housing difficulties.”
The Earl of Harrowby, with his wife and daughter, recently toured Australia ant. New Zealand.
