FEILDING STOCK SALE! GOOD SHEEP~IN DEMAND. Tlio yarding of sheep at yesterday's sale at Feilding was an average on?- .for this time of tne ’year and for all [ good, liitcs there was good aornpotition, while, inferiors were more or less neglected. A line of 2-th wethers (store) and another of fat wethers, made the highest prices of the year and tue referred to moro particularly in another paragraph. The offering of cattle was of very small compass and, except for fats, met with little competition. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Palmerston North, report having a small yarding ot sheep and a fair entry of cattle, when a total clearance was effected. Dulgety and C'o., Ltd., report having held their usual fortnightly sale at Tailiape on Wednesday, when a good yarding of sheep and a small entry, of cattle came to hand. There was a fair, attendance of buyers. Competition was somewhat restricted, and prices generally were in favour of buyers, there being a slight decrease in values. We quote: 4-th" wethers (small), 245; 4, 6 and 8-th wethers, 29s to 32s 6d; good 2-th wethers, 30s 6d to 31s 6d; f. and f. wethers, 355; extra good m.s. f. and f. lambs, 31s; store cows £2 15s 6d. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report: A good yarding of .sheep and a small entry of cattle came forward. BIG PRICES FOR GOOD SHEEP. At the Feilding yards _ yesterday, reports the “Standard’s” Feilding correspondent, some prime and store wethers were sold at extreme prices. On account of Mr A. R. Bartlett, Kimbolton, 411 2-th wethers were purchased by Mr JOs. Knight at 38s, the highest price paid for ewes this year. Mr J. Northcott, Waituna, sold two pens of fat wethers at 48s 7d, being bought for the Wellington market, while Mr F. S. Mann, ‘Feilding, secured 22 at 49s from the same vendor. The quality of these sheep was excellent, and proves how good the fattening country in this district is. LONDON TALLOW SALES. Dalgety and Coy., Ltd., report having received the following cablegram from their London house, under date of the 29th inst : —BSO casks of tallow offered; 200 sold. Since our lust report prices are unchanged to 6d per owt. lower. Quotation for mixed tallow, 44s per cwt.

FROZEN MEAT. Dalgety and Coy., Ltd., report having received the following cablegram from their London house under date of the 30th ultimo:—Lamb: New Zealand prime crossbred lamb, Canterbury heavy lid, light 12d; North Island heavy lOijd, light Demand for New Zealand lamb runs principally on light-weights, market firm. During tho last week considerable quantity of lamb has edine forward on consignment. Mutton: New Zealand prime crossbred mutton, Canterbury heavy and light not quoted; North Island heavy 5Jd, light 9d. EARLY APPLICATION DESIRED. LONDON. April 30. Australian circles in Loudon, realising that July is too late for Australia to benefit from fruit and sugar preferences, have started a campaign to persuade the Government to introduce them earlier. It is pointed out that if they ere incorporated m the Finance Bill it will !>e necessary to wait until it is passed, which will probably take at least between two and three months. It is understood the Government it sympathetic and to meet the Australian interest is endeavouring to overcome Parliamentary precedents and deal with fruit and sugar preferences immediately by some other method.—A. and N.Z. cable. Siberian is arriving in increasing quantities, and the supplies from this source arc expected to reach fifty per cent, above last season’s. It is selling well at 144 sto 148 s. Cheese is dull.
