ENGLISHMEN’S TOUR. At the annual meeting of the Wellington Football Association, an explanation was made Mr H. I). Warner (delegate to the N.Z. Council) as to the reasons why the English tour of New Zealand had not eventuated. Mr Warner said it was most difficult for a councillor to get detailed information unless a member of the Emergency Committee, which was inclined to take too much upon itself. He considered that a change ought to be made in the New Zealand and Australian representative in England. 'Oie interests of New Zealand were sacrificed to those of Australia. Too much was heard about matters pertaining to Australia, and not enough of New Zealand matters. New Zealand should have a sepnrate representative. Mr Warner expressed the opinion that if the profit resulting from the Chinese tour camo to the chairman’s liguro of £2OO they would be lucky. The balance-sheet had recently been passed by the New Zealand Council, subject to audit. A motion embodying a protest against the action of the New Zealand Council in declining the tour of the English team was carried unanimously.
