NO CASES OVER WEEK-END

There were no cases of infantile paralysis locally over the week-end. There have been no further discharges of convalescent patients. The medical superintendent of the Palmerston North Hospital (Dr. G. A. Forrest) informed a “Standard’-’ reporter to-day that most of tho' cases under treatment were progressing favourably. CASES AT GISBORNE. Per Press Association. GISBORNE, March 28. Two cases of infantile paralysis were notified during the week-end, a nine-year-old boy being admitted to Cook Hospital on Saturday and a sixteen months’ old girl admitted to-day. Both cases come from Gisborne. There are now nine such patients in tho Cook Hospital.

FATAL CASE.

Per Press Association. ASHBURTON, March 28. The child, aged 21 years, admitted to hospital from Methven yesterday with infantile paralysis, died to-day, it being the first death in. the country.
