SINGAPORE BASE.
JAPANESE RESOLUTION. Received February 9, 9.30 a.m. LONDON, Feb. 8. The Japanese League of Nations Association passed a resolution expressing the opinion that the building of the Singapore base may produce an unfavourable reaction on the traditional Anglo-Japanese friendship and afford a pretext lor competitive armament, asserting that the scheme will not harmonise with the spirit of the League and nullified the effc ct of the Washington Conference.—A., and N.Z. cable.
