MEETING OF CARRIERS.
FORMATION OF ASSOCIATION DISCUSSED. At the Anzac Club on Saturday evening a meeting of Manawatu carriers was held to consider forming a carriers' association. A deputation from the Wairarapa Association was present and explained the working of that body for the past three years. It is expected that an association will be formed at Pttlmerston North at an early date and a further meeting will be held this week. Among those present were Messrs Iggluden and Thomas, the chairman and secretary respectively of the Wairarapa Association, and nine other members. During their stay here the visitors were shown over the town and environs. They expressed their great pleasure in seeing the progress Palmerston North had made and with the many beautiful parks. More particularly they were impressed by the exceptionally good roads they traversed.
