H, iNNAN-HADFIELD- CONTEST. Per Press Association. TAURANGA, Feb. 6. J. P. Hannan, holder of the Australian and New Zealand rowing champion; hip, is visiting Tauranga to inspect the local course with a view to a match between himself and Hadfield. Hannan has expressed himself well satisfied with the course and considers it, from a spectator's point of view, the best he has seen. It is proposed that the winner of the lannan-Hadfield race should row the vinner of tho SlcDevitt-Goodsell race for the world's championship. Ha utian was entertained at a smoke concert last night, when it was decided to endeavour to raise £SOO for a stt ke for a Hannan-Hadfield race, to be rowed here.
