RAILWAY RETURNS.
FIGURES FOR NINE MONTHS. Nine months' railway returns, from April 1, 1924, to January 3, 1925, show that tha excess of revenue over expenditure for the period was £1,044,954. Ths total revenue for the period was £5,199,393, compared with £5,105,201 for the corresponding period of 192324. The expenditure totalled £1,193,439, compared with £4,093,605. FOUR-WEEKLY PERIOD. The revenue for the four-weekly period ending January 3, 1925, was £648,830, compared with £847,798 for the corresponding period a year ago. The expenditure was £399,694, compared with £380,005 for the 1923-24 period.
