SPORTING.
THE LATE CON REED. IMPRESSIVE FUNERAL. Tho funeral of the late Con Reed, who died of injuries received while he was riding at Taumarunui on Saturday, took placo at Wellington yesterday. There wus a largo attendance of members of the racing community, and there were many evidences of tiio respect in which the deceased was held. The wreaths, whicli wore very beautiful, were so numerous that they filled a motor-car. The service at the graveside was conducted by Rev. E. McLovie. The pall-beurors vyero L. G. Morris, M McCarten, J. O’Shea, J. Burry, R. S. Bugby and B. Rosen.
