AMERICAN RUNNERS.
MAY VISIT PALMERSTON NORTH. There is every probability that two of the world’s greatest short distance runners, C. W. Paddock, of the Los Angeles A. 0., and Loren Murchison, of tho Newark A.C., will he seen, in action in Palmerston North during March. It is the intention of these two to make a tour of tho world, competing in tho various countries they visit. They intend to leave tho United States early next month, and New Zeuland is on their proposed itinerary. This afternoon Mr 11. L. Young received a telegram from Mr V. T. Hugo, treasurer of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association, enquiring whether a guarantee of £SO could be raised in order to ensure a visit of these two groat sprinter i to Palmerston North.
