GOOD, BUT NOT A RECORD. Tho £SOO which the German dclegation gave as a tip to the staff or then hotel during their recent stay in Lon-* don was stated by hotel managers to tho Daily Mail to be “a good tip, slightly erring on the side of generosjty but not exorbitant considering the sizo of their hill-” The hotel accommodation is said to have cost them from £4OOO to £SOOO. “it must also bo remembered, said the manager of one \\ cst End hotel, “that it was a Government delegation, working day and night and having special facilities, and in tlio circumstances it was the right tip. it is not a record. "When Air George Kessler gave his famous gondola dinner m a London hotel many years ago he gave £IOOO to the waiters, carpenters and workmen who had filled the courtyard of the hotel with water on which the gondolas floated and in which tho guests dined.
