HUSBAND’S CRIME.
ATTEMPTS TO KILL WIFE. TERRIBLE SCHEME FRUSTRATED. Received December 1. 8.5 a.m. VIENNA, Nov. 28. Emanuel Bedlivy, aged 22, a few weeks after marrying a pretty girl, aged 20, locked her in a flat, blocked the entrance with furniture, and then set lire to the woman’s clothing, which was saturated with petrol. The tire brigade broke in and rescued the girl, whose life the husband laid insured heavily a few days previously.—A. und N.Z. cable.
