MONGOL HORDE.
MARCHING ON TIBET. CALCUTTA, Oct. 9. From Lhasa it is reported that 10,000 .Mongolians from Urga are marching on Tibet, supposedly for the purpose of presenting a petition to tho Dallia Lama. The Dalai Lama has sent big party of nobles to gather the real intentions of the invaders. He himself is known to hold progressive views, and therefore is looked upon with suspicion by the conservatelyminded Buddist monks.
It is reported that a Tibetan police official, in British employ, who has been on a political mission to Lhasa lias been interned, together with -ar MacDonald, tho British Trade Agent at Gyantse.
