CARPENTIER AND TUNNEY.
BOTH SIDES CONFIDENT.
Received uJlv 25, 9.30 a.m. NEW YORK, July 24. The Carpentier-Tunney match will commence on the polo grounds at nine o’clock on Thursday night. Both tip the scales at under 175 pounds. Tunney exceeds Car* pentier in height and rench, otherwise their physical measurements are virtually the same. Tilnnev is a stiff lCft-handed puncher. Tunney’s American light-heavy-weight title is at stake. M. Dcseamps (Carpentier’s manager) is confident that Tunney will not last more than five rounds, while Tunney’s manager is confident that Carpcntier will go down in the sixth round.—Reuter.
