REPLIES BY MINISTERS. (Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, July 23. In the House of Rep'resontatives today Mr Witty asked the Prime Minister if ho would alter the dale of his Mortgages Final Extension Bill from 31sr. December to 31st March, lie pointed out that at the end of tho year very few farmers had any money at all, but by March 31st they had their grain in sight, their wool was in, and many of, their lambs were away so they would then be in a position to bettor meet their mortgages.

Mr Massey said he could not alter tho Bill at this stage, but he could consider tho suggestion and an amendment might be moved at tho proper time. Replying to Mr Parry, Mr Massey said ho proposed to ask the committee to tako up tho Incensing Bill where they dropped it last year. He proposed that the Bill should be draTted on the lines of the committed's recommendations and submitted tc tho House.

Replying to Mr Munro, the Hon. W. Nosworthy said the Government had fullyconsidered all tho facts of the case before deciding to excludo Californian soil products from tho Dominion.
