LAW CLERKS’ SOCIETY.
MOCIC BREACH OF PROMISE CASE. On Monday evening the Law Clerks’ Debating Society, in lieu of their ordinary debate engaged in a mock breach of promise action. The intention of the committee was to produce something farcical, and they succeeded in doing so. The office of judge was capably filled by Mr M. Niccol, who was ably supported by Mr A. Muirhcad ns registrar.’ The part of plaintiff was taken bv Mr C. Goldfinch and that of defendant by Mr N. Rodgers. Counsel for the parties wore Mr A. McLeavoy for plaintiff and Air F. Opic for defendant. Both counsel excelled in searching cross examination. Mr A, Davis filled the position of foreman of tho jury. After three hours of amusement members dispersed, well satisfied with their evening’s entertainment.
