The Feilding Salvation Army Band and song party visited Sancton on a recent nignt. Tiler was a good attendance and tiie performance was much appreciated. The Carnarvon Cribbage Club defeated Oroua Downs on a recent evening by o 4 games to 44. 'Tho meeting of citizens called for Saturday night was only very puorly attended. Mr \Y. E. Pearce, ehi.innan of the memorial committee, presided. It was decided 10 have the unveiling ceremony at an early date. It was left in the bunds of the chairman and Messrs J. N. Croucher and A. K. Drew to arrange tor visiting otlicials. If it is possible il is hoped that, a Sunday will be convenient for the ceremony.

FOOTBALL. Sandon seniors met United at Oroua Downs on Saturday nnd after a hard, fast game the result was u draw, three points each—a penalty goal, kicked by Murphy, for Sandon, and a try, scored by S. Alolfatt, for United. Air G. Fitzgerald was referee.

Ohakea defeated Awaliuri at Ohakea by 7 points to nil. The ground was in a bad state and not conducive to good football. The senior competition, is nearly finished »nd the next game between Ohakea und Sandon will decide tlie contest. Our senior representatives are looking forward to the game against Rangitikei at Bulls on Wednesday, and although not looking for victory they hope to give a good account of themselves. We are also looking for a good game with Manawatu on Suturday next, ’l'ho game. All Blacks v. Alanawatu-Horowlienua, is creating much interest and should draw a good crowd of football enthusiasts Iroin this district.
