SERIOUS CHARGES.

Per Press Association. OPOTIKI, June 11. Hilton Crosswell, aged 38, was charged at the Police Court with breaking and entering the residence or Mrs Margaret Moody, aged 91, with intent to commit a crime and with assaulting Mrs Moody. Evidence was given that the accused tried to force his unwelcome attentions on another woman without success, and then tried to enter Mrs Moody's house through a bedroom window. He was told to go away, but refused, and on Mrs Moody opening the door and hitting him with a stick, threw her down and acted with indecent intent. , ~ , Accused told the police he was drunk and was only defending himself. He was committed for trial.
