AUCKLAND WINTER MEETING. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, June 11. The A.R.C. winter meeting is being concluded in fine weather and with a large attendance. The course is Rightly holding. Results:— Tamaki Steeplechase, about 2-J miles. Tuki, 9.8, 1; General Rose, 9.4, 2; Ditto, 9.13, 3. Scratched: Sir Rosebery. "Won by a neck, two and a half lengths between second and third. Time, 5.22 3-5.
Mr Ren Chaffey. of Hilding (Vic), gave 230gns. for Whittier as a yearling, at the Chatsworth Park Dispersal salo, and that horse has won £15,400 in stakes.
