ATTEMPT TO ROB BANK

(Per Prait Aaiooiation.) AUCKLAND. June 9. Between seven and ten o'clock lust night burglars entered the Union Bank of Australia at the corner of Queen and Victoria streets, having wrenched the back door open with a crowbar or jemmy. Gelignite was placed in the keyhole of the strongroom and bedding was used to deaden the report. The locks were shattered, but the door of the safe hold firm, and the thieves were frustrated. The contents of the safe are intact. . This is the most daring attempt at bank robbery in Auckland for some years.
