DEATH OF A BABY
FATHER CHARGED WITH MURDER. Received June 9. 9.55 a.m. . > LONDON, Juno 8. Following neighbours' stories that the ten months' old baby of a married couplo named Travis, residing at Mnrylebone, was missing, the police questioned them. They at first stated that the baby had been sent to tho care of friends but later Travis, who is aged 21, admitted that the child was restless at night and he squeezed its nose to quieten it, and that it ceased breathing, lie placed the body in a kit bag and left it in the New stjeet railway clonkroorii. The detectives found it there and arrested Travis on a charge of murder.—A. and N.Z. cable.
