The Auckland horseman, J. O'Shea, may have a spell for a few weeks shortly and undergo a slight operation. lie will be riding again next month. News received by a recent mail from L. 11. Hewitt says that he may lake up horse training next season as he thinks he has been riding long enough. He was laid aside not Tolig ago with malarial fever, but when the mail loft was about again. He went to Madras during the season and rode a team of six horses and won nine races, including two cups. At tho yearling sales just concluded in Sydney 615 were sold and realised 132,342 guineas. ,
