CYCLE ROAD RACE. (From Our Own Correspondent ) The two cycle road races to be held on Saturday afternoon are creating considerable interest locally. The novice race of six miles will be looked forward to, inasmuch as some good riders may come to fight. Naturally, the interest so far shown in this popular sport will be well maintained when the older riders take the field in an 18 mile race. The competitors in this event will traverse three times a six mile block. In connection with these events the following handicaps have been declared: Novice race, six miles: L. Ilancox, J. Lyons. D. Hammond Infill., A. Scott 2min., E. Algar, D. Thompson and W. Pedley 3iiiin.. I. Taylor and G. Illingworth 3Jmin. Open. 18 miles: 11. Howell scr., 11. Montgomerie 30sec., W. Stern and E ,W. Pinfold ljmin. F. Powell 2inin., E. Radd 2Jmin., R, Watkins and J. Bower 3infin., J. Griffith 4jniin., L. Ilancox, B. McGee and 11. Dixon 7min.
