FISHING AT TAUPO.
MAGNIFICENT CATCHES. TWENTY AND A-HALF POUNDER LANDED. TAUPO, Jan. 28. Fishing has not been good at Taupo for some Aveeks past, but though the fish have been scarce they are tor the most J part larger and in better condition than at Gilbert’s. On the Taupo side bf the lake, Waitahanui is the only point at which fish are being taken. A Rotorua party, Avho fished at Waitahanui all night on Saturday, secured amongst their catch one tAvonty and a-half pounder, one seventeen pounder and one sixteen and almlf pounder. Some good catches including magnlfie< nt fish have been mado at Tongarir, Taupo, and at the Tongariri on tin other side of the lake.
