Considerable consternation was caused at the Theatre Royal last evening, when, during the screening of a motion picture, tne film burst into Haines. . The largo number of persons in the theatre rose and rushed for the doors, but the stampede ceased when the opera or promptly suppressed the outbreak with an extinguisher. The audience then returned to its seats, and some minutes were spent in searching for property lost during the panic. , , The damage to the film was found to be of a minor nature, and after a short delay tile programme was continued.
