THE COTTON TRADE.
IMPROVEMENT SHOWN.
Received December 28, 9.30 a.iii. LONDON, Dec. 27. Mr Bryce Muir, president of the Liverpool Cotton Association, addressing the members said that Liverpool buyers had secured for Lancashire a full six months’ supply of cotton. After three trying years the depression _ in trade was now undoubtedly improving. Many mills had begun to run full time. By their present purchases the Liverpool merchants -would bauble to protect their purchases against decline by the sale of futures. The world’s demand for goods had been starved and starved for nine years. He believed that England would get a full share of the vast potential world demand, giving promise of from three to four years’ remunerative business and deserved prosperity, but they must beware or a boom.—Sydney Sun cable.
