(Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Juno 23. There was a good market to-day at Ad diugtou in practically all classes of slock, notably in fat cattle, fat lambs and hag gels.

Store Sheep—A good yarding for the winter, including a few Marlborough and West Coast owes and hoggets, hoggets advanced Is per head and ewes and wethers were thin at late rates. Forward 4, 6 and 8-tooth wethers realised 29s 8d to 30s lid, ordinary 4, 6 and B-tooth 27s to 295, forward 2 and 4-tooth 33s 3d, 2 and 4-looth 27s to 28s 6d, s.m. halfbred ewes 35s 9d, ordinary 2,4, 6 and 8-tooth 27s 3d, small 2-tooth halfbred 30s, aged 14s to 21s 9d, good threeqimrterbred ewe hoggets 25s 9d to 27s sd. good half bred wethers 235, ordinary wethers 19s lOd to 21s 4d, cull wethers 14s to 19s 6d, mixed sex 19s 5d to 22s 6d. Fat Lambs.—23so head were permed and met with a keen sale, freezing lambs making lOijd, and ligl/ter sorts Ad less. The majority of works close at tlie end of the month. Extra prime lambs sold for 33s 3d to 36s sd, a few special 41s, prime 30s to 335, medium 2os 9d to 29s 9d, light and untinished 22s to 265.

Fat Sheep.—A big yarding and prices were well maintained, except for medium and ligl it ewes. Freezers operated for wethers up to 7d and ewes to 5Jd. Extra prime wethers fetched 38s, special 42s 6d, prime 34s 6d to 37s 9d, medium 32s to 34s 3d, light 29s to 31s 6d, extra prime ewes 34s 10d, prime 26s to 29s 6d, medium 21s to 25s 6d, light 18s 6d to 20s 9d, old 16s 9d to IBs 3d. "

Fat cattle.—434 head were yarded, one consignment of 32 being from the North Island. They mot with improved sale, special beef fetching up to 35a, the average being 27s to 31s per 1001 b. North Island steers fetched £l3 17s 6cl, extra prime steers £l7 ss; a truck of special £2O 15s to £22; prime, £l2 to £ls; medium, £9 to £ll 15s; light, £6 5s to £8 15s; extra prime heifers, £11; a. few special £l3 12s 6d; prime, £8 Ss to £lO 10s; ordinary, £5 6s 6d to £8; prime cows, £7 to £9 7s 6d; medium, £5 to £6 17s 6d. Venlers.—A small entry of calves, suitable for butchers, showed an improvement on late rates. Good runners realised to £5 6s; ordinary heavy vealers, £3 15s to £4 15s; medium, £1 10s to £3; small calves, 5s to 20s. Store cattle. —A small entry of nondescript sorts. No quotable lines were sold. Dairy cattle. —A few outstanding lots came forward, but the demand was not. very brisk. Good second, third and fourth culvers, close to calving, fetched £7 to £lO, extra good £l2 10s, medium springers, £3 10s to £6 10s; springing heifers, £10; aged and inferior sorts, £1 to £1 Ss. Fat pigs.—Pork was easier and bacon sold at about late rates. Choppers fetched £3 10s to £8 17s, light baooners, £3 15s to £4 ss; heavy, £4 10s to £4 15s; extra heavy, £5 10s; average price per lb, 6|d to 7id. Light porkers, 40s to 475; heavy, 52s to 60s; average price per lb. 7-id to Bid. Store pigs.—Weauers, 12s to 15s; extra good, 19s 6d; slipcs 18s to 235; medium stores, 25s to 30s; large stores, 40s; sows in pig, £4 10s.
