Lustrous pearls—Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lvon's favourite jewels-were selected'bv the Duko of York for his wedding gift, (says a London paper). This was a pearl sautoir—a modern piece of jewellery like a necklace, but longer. It is composed of several hundred pearls of meduim size, With about half a dozen diamonds set m at intervals. At the bottom is a bigger diamond, and finally a pearl drop ol exquisite beauty. It is mounted on Platinum- a rare and distinctive ioatare 'of the ornament. There are but few sautoirs of tins kind in London.
