The Mayor, Mr .). A. Nash. M.P., has received Iron: the trustees of the late Mr 11. ('. Bruce an invitation to attend tho opening of Bruce Park, Silvorhope, the date of the function having been iixed for April IT. "The late Mr Bruce," states the lottor of invitation, •'made the conservation of Now Zealand forest one of his life's objects, and he devoted a large part of his estate to this end. In furtherance of his wishes, the trustees have secured an area of about -10 acres of beautiful typical bush at Silverhope, which will serve both as a national scenic reserve and as a fitting memorial to one of New Zealand's pioneers.''

Duckworth, bronze medal for rescuing Harold Parkes from drowning at St. Clair beach, Duncdin, on December 11, 1922; Leslie ft. Henderson, letter of commendation for rescuing Donald White from drowning at Dunedin on January 6, 1923; Daphne M. Aburn, silver medal for rescuing Clarence Jordan and Arthur Gossott from drowning at Sumner on 24th January, 1923, and for rescuing Jolm K. Williams from drowning at Sumner on January 25, 1923.
