BIBLE CLASS CAMPS.

LOCAL ACTIVITIES. The first Bible class camp to be conducted under the auspices of the Manawatu Methodist Young Men’s Bible Class SubUnion is at present in progress on the Miiningnt.n racecourse. Visitors are jiiesent from the Wellington, Hawke s Bay, \\ aiiiranui and Taranaki Unions, which m addition to local members, swells the total ot campers to about 100. The Racing Clubs buildings have been placed at the disposal of the camp management and excellent sleeping quarters have been secured, ahe camp officials are I Camp-captain, Mr 1. E. Taylor; camp sergeant-major Mr Keith Hodder; musical director, Mr Gordon C. Harris; pianist, Mr Allan J. McLeavey; secretary, Mr Allan McLeavey; assistant secretary, Mr lan K. Richard; registrar, Mr G. Darragh; chairman of executive committee, Mr R. 11. Billens. The conveners of committees are: Meetings, Rev. H. Daniel; 'sports and entertainment, Mr G. C. Harris; accommodation, Mr J. Bowker; commissariat, Mr Keith Hodder; transport, Mr T. Pacey. There arc also in camp Rev. E. P. Blumircs, general secretary \of the Methodist Young Peoples Department, and Rev. Sage, of Dannevirke. While the progi'amme drawn up pays due attention to the spiritual welfare of the campers, physical development has been accorded a prominent place in the category. Thursday found the site a busy scene of operations and by yesterday morning everything was in good order. Camp activities commenced with physical exercises at 6.30 a,m. under the instruction of camp sergeant-major Mr Keith Hodder. From 7 a-m, to -7.45 a.m. devotional studies employed the attention of the campers, Rev. 11. Daniel being the speaker, and later all the members assembled at morning service which was conducted by Revs, Daniel, Sage and Blamires. The campers have been divided into ten groups, under leaders, for Bible study and intercession, and provided the weather conditions are favourable, the movement should prove an unqualified success. The introduction of a fine lighting installation, which has been generously supplied by the Central Electric Company, has aided greatly to the camp conveniences. A camp concert will be held this evening and it is fully anticipated that a large number of visitors from town will be present . PRESBYTERIAN CAMP.

The members of the district Young Womens’ Bible classes associated with the Presbyterian Church are holding an Easter camp in St. Andrew’s Church. Bible study and discussion occupied the attention of tie members yesterday morning while in the afternoon a most enjoyable picnic was field on the banks of the Mauaw atu river. j In the evening a short address was given by Mrs G. T. Brown. The camp, which includes members from Marion and Feilding in addition to a big section of local young ladies, is under the charge of Miss Jessie Chapman, and will be in session tall Monday afternoon, when camp will be '‘struck.” •
