FRUITGROWERS’ ASSOCIATION.

ANNUAL MEETING OF ASSOCIATION. The annual meeting of the Manawatu Fruitgrowers’ Association was held last evening, the president (Mr A. 11. Rush) presiding over a good attendance of members. \ ANNUAL REPORT. The third annual report of the association stated that the organisa J tion continued to improve its financial position, the credit balance at -date being £4l_los, and the membership 20. The association continued to keep in touch with all matters affecting the fruitgrowing industry,. but the most vital question was still the fireblight menace. Twelve committee meetings had I been held during the year. In conclusion it was desired to record the sincere thanks of the committee to Mr A. E. Mansford for auditing the accounts. The report was adopted. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The election of officers resulted:— President, Mr A. R. Rush; vice-presi-dent, Mr F. H. Owtram; committee, Messrs L. M. Johansen, W. B. Ellis, F. B. Ryan, H. G. Grover, J. Nairn, j;, G. Mayo; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr T. F. Conway. GENERAL. The secretary declined to accept a bonus for his services, and members agreed to present him at a later date with some token in recognition of his work. Mr Conway was appointed the association’s delegate to the Wellington provincial fruitgrowers’ conference.
