At the Supreme Court Joseph Barnitt on three charges of forging, and uttering was sentenced to one year on each charge and for the theft of a cheque book one month, tho sentences to bo concurrent, and was declared an habitual criminal. William Lamb, for carnal knowledge, two counts, was sentenced to five years on each charge, the sentence to be concurrent. John O’Grady for attempted serious offence was sentenced to two years’ reformats* detention. WELLINGTON SUPREME COURT, WELLINGTON, March 1. At the Supreme Court John Hunter, who was found guilty of attempted _ theft of a watch from an elderly man m an hotel by snatching it, was sentenced to % year’s imprisonment.
