The position in connection with the Tauranga by-election so far as the Liberal-Labour Party is concerned seems to bo that a meeting will be held at Te Aroha on Monday night when the question of the selection of a Liberal-Labour candidate will be discussed. The selection will not necessarily be made that might, but it is not expected that Sir Joseph Ward or any other candidate will make any announcement until after Monday’s meeting.
The Hon. D. H. Guthrie, M.P., told a “Standard" reporter to-day that, if necessary, Mr C E, MacMillan, the official Reform candidate for the Taurange seat, would be supported in the by-election contest by members of the party.
