ESCAPE OF A PRISONER.
SMARTLY RECAPTURED,
(Per Press Association.) BLENHEIM, Jan. 22. William Walker Johnstone, who escaped from the Nelson gaol on Suifday, whore lie was awaiting the decision of the Prisons Board for a broach of ,a probationary license issued at' Auckland, was smartly captured early this morning when en route to Christchurch in a taxi by the Blenheim police under Senior-Sergeant Clarkson, who worked a clever ambush.
