The Avondale Jockey Club’s spring meeting was opened to-day in fine weather. There was a large attendance, the totalisator investments were £58,870, compared with £63,554 10s, for the corresponding day last year. Results:

Avondale Cup, of 2000 sovs, one mile and a half.—Royal Present, 7.12, A. McCormac, 1; Gasbag, 9.5, H. Reed, 2; Glencanny 7.0, 3.
