INTERNATIONAL HOCKEY.

AUSTRALIA v. NEW ZEALAND,

Interest, in the hockey test match be* tween Australia and New Zealand, to be played on the sportsground on Wednesday afternoon at 3 o’clock, has become much keener now that the event is only two days off. For the first time in the history of New Zealand and Australia the champion eleven of each country will face each other on Wednesday to determine the premiership ns between the two. The visitors will be putting their very best team in the field; that which played at Auckland on Saturday was not their best, so that the New Zealand representatives will not have an easy victory if it should como their way. Abel, the Australians’ crack centre-half and captain, has been resting at Rotorua and should be lit enough to take his place in the test. Tho visitors’ knowledge of the game will be apparent to all once the ball is set in motion, and their scientific play will appeal to hockey enthusiasts and the general public. From all appearances there will be a record crowd present. Seats may be reserved at Goldfinch and Cousins’.

The Dannevirko train will be delayed until 5 p.m. on Wednesday and a special car will he attached to the Marion train leaving at 6 p.m.
