LEAGUE FOOTBALL.
SOUTH AUCKLAND v. WELLINGTON, By this morning’s south-bound Main Trunk express the South Auckland League football team arrived in Palmerston North and to-morrow will open its tour hero by playing Wellington. There are 25 m the party, of which Messrs E. T. Wilson and St. C. Macdonald are acting as managers. Two games will also be played against Hawke’s Bay, the first at Napier on baturdav and the second at Hastings on \\ odnesday, September 13. As the weather gives promise of remaining fine there should be n large attendance at to-morrow s match which takes place at the showgrounds. Ihe South Auckland players on Saturday defeated Auckland for the Rugby League challenge cup, They are a clever combination and should give a great display against Wellington, who are also a fine team. The following will represent South Auck-land-.-Full-back, T. Mahuta (1); threequarters, R. Guthrie (2), G. Raynor (3), B. Pati (captain) (4), five-eighths, W. Hall (5), L, Stewart (6); half., T. Peckham(7); forwards. L. Hutt (8), F, Raynor (9), I. Gaiusford (10), J. Bishop (11), J. Peckham (12), W. Paid (13). Reserves: Dent, Kelly, Sherlock, Raynor.
