DEPUTATION IN WELLINGTON. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Aug % 31. 'A deputation introduced by Mr Fraser, M.P., interviewed the Prime Minister and tho Minister of Public Works to-day with reference to tho unemployment problem. Mr Fraser and tho other speakers emphasised that the deputation had no industrial or political significance, and was just a deputation of men out of work. Tho Prune Minister and tho Minister of Public Works said that some fifty or sixty men could be placed at once on various works, but they admitted tho difficulty of sending married men away from town. Tho Hon. J. G. Coates said he had endeavoured lo send single men in the country to relievo tho position in town for the married men, but apparently, tho latter now required immediate help. At Mr Fraser’s suggestion, tho Minister agreed to consult with the civic authorities lo endeavour to organise work near at hand and place some of the men immediately.
