RACECOURSE EXCURSIONS.

CRITICISMS OF THE LAW. Reference to the exclusion of certain poodle from racecourses was made by Mr C, E. Armstrong at the annual meeting of the Hamilton Racing Club last week. Mr Armstrong said that while he quite believed in keeping the sport clean, he thought it wrong that men who had made a slip in the past and had since become reputable citizens should be excluded from racecourses, lie thought something should be done in the way of making it possible for such men to enjoy the sport. The president, Mr G. W. Vercoo, said they could only send a remit to the Racing Conference. Mr W. 1. Conradi said the present law was too drastic, as many were excluded from the racecourses when they would be admitted to other social functions or to any church. It seemed that because a man had committed some oll'encc and boon punished for it, that he was to bo hnrrassed for the rest of his life. The president said that after this expression of opinion by members, the committee no doubt would forward a remit to the proper quarter.
