GERMAN ‘-JACK THE RIPPER.”

BERLIN, July G. Grossman committed suicide in his cell.—A. and N.Z. cable.

Sensational disclosures were made at the trial of an elderly butcher named Karl Grossman, described as the German “Jack the Ripper.” He was charged with the murder of three women, whom he enticed to it flat on the pretence ol employment as domestics, but the disappearance of more than 20 women is attributed to him. Ho is further accused of enticing an additional 50 women and children to the flat, but they fortunately escaped. It is alleged that Grossman mot his victims at the railway station and afterwards cut the bodies to pieces and threw them into the river Spree or canals.
