STOCK MARKET. Levin and Co., Lid., report on stock sales for the 'week ending Saturday, July Bth; At finds sale on Monday (here was a small yarding of cattle only, which met with a dull sale. Medium fat cows £2 ss, sow £2. At Apiti sale on Tuesday we had a fair yarding of both sheep and cattle. There was fair competition on the sheep and wo had a good clearance under the hammer a I prices on a par with outside sales. Cattle were neglected. Medium b.f. lambs 11s ICd, 13s, good hoggets (chiefly wethers) 15s 3d, medium ms. hoggets Its 6d, small m.s. hoggets 8s 6d, RomneyLincoln four-tooth owes r.w. S.D. rams 28s, 27s 7d, guaranteed cow in milk £l2 10s. At Feildmg on Friday a medium yarding of sheep and cattle came forward. Fat sheep, of which (bore was a large entry, met with good competition, though prices fell off at the latter end of tho sale. Prices were on a par with last week’s sale. Hoggets were somewhat easier than at recent sales. Ewes in lamb toS.D, rams met with a ready market. A heavy yarding of dairy stock met a dull demand, though the bulk of tho yarding sold at low prices. Store cattle sold at late rates. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on I' eliding- salt* held on 6th inst. Fat sheep: A heavy yarding eamu forward including some, very good pens of ewes and wethers. Not many lambs were yarded. Prices all round receded somewhat from previous sale, the supply being in excess of demand. Store sheep: A good entry, there being some nice lines of all classes of stock. The demand for anything good was brisk, but inferior sheep were hard to quit. Fat cattle: A small yarding, prices on a pur with last week, fstore cattle: Small yarding, limited demand. Dairy stock; Heavy yarding, quality being fair, good demand for anything choice; cull stall' being hard to quit. We quote: —Fat sheep: Wethers fair 24s 4d to 24s 9d, ewes 16s 3d, 17s, 17s 3d, 17s 7d to 18s 4d, lambs light 14s Id to 16s. Store sheep: On account J. Linklater, ewes hoggets 21s 2d to 21s 3d, wethers hoggets 17s Bd, others 11s 6d, 13s 2d to 13s 9d, ewes in lamb to Southdown 22s 4d to 22s 9d, cull ewes 5s to 6s, Fat cattle: Heifers £2 11s to £3 19s. Store cattle: Forward cows 20s, 255, 29s to £2 ss. Dairy stock: Best springing heifers £8 7s 6d. £9 to £lO, others £5 to £6, springing cows £7, £7 10s, £8 lo £8 ss, culls £3\to £4. Dalgety and Co. Ltd., Palmerston North, report having a fair yarding of belli sheep and cattle at their I"eliding sale on Friday, the 7th inst.
