K.A.C REPORT. milß K.A.C. report for lasi week: - 1 Meal sales were attended by record crowd? of buyers, die meat vendor having to increase his stall. Vegetables, pardeulurly cauliflowers and cabbages, are very scarce, owing no doubt lu llio high prices obtaining in Wellington, local growers taking lull advantage ol the city market. Apples, especially iJougherty, sold at 5s Jd, 5s id lo 7s 6il per bushel case. Sound potatoes up to Bs per twi; ironbark pumpkins 5s 6a'to 6s sack; onions, 11s to 12s; eggs, 2s 9d do/en; bacon, sides 9d, rolls lOd; hams, Bit; chulF (inferior), is sack; fair ss. There is an increasing demand for used furniture. We received three big consignments from llio suburbs last week, and sold the lot at almost new prices. Poultry dropped since previous Saturday’s sale. Although wo penned 610 head, fat liens made up lo 3s 5d each, turkey hens 5s to 5s Id each, but good W.L pullets made to 6s 9d each. Weanor pigs up to 17s, and with every prospect ot even ,a higher price next sale. Gig? during the week £/, £l2, £l7 JOs; iron scoop, 90s; timber (used) l6s per 100 super.
