Addressing the Federation of Labour Convention at Cincinnati, Mr Gompers said that organised Labour was in no mood to have its constitutional rights taken from it by any subtle reasoning or assumption of power, no matter whence it emanated. Labour was prepared to fight the open shop. Discussing the Armament Conference, M ■ Gompers declared that not much had been accomplished compared with what remains to be done, but u beginning had been made, and Labour deserved credit for initiating the movement.
