SOCIAL FUNCTIONS.

u.s.a. dance. There was a very large attendance at the Boldiers’ ( lab on’Saturday evening, when Che B.S.A. held the fortnightly dance Miss 11. Lloyd played an extra, and the duties of M.C. were carried out by .Mr F._ Biggs. During an interval in the mincing -Mr and .Mrs .Moores gave an exhibition ol the American one-step. An enjoyable evening was spent at the Zeclanclia Hall dance on h ri.li.iy night, WO '.■(tuples being present, thirty couples competed in the waltzing competition and the judge (.Mr F. Pveroft) awarded the prizes to MDs Cribb and Mr Barrett. F.xiras were {Moved by .Mr D. Spence. The committee intends to hold a plain and fancy dance and a points prize competition at an early date. Air T. Marine was M.C. The Terrace Fuel .1 ennis and Croquet (Tib held another ot its series of fortnightly dances on Sal unlay night in the clubs pavilion, when a most enjoyable time was .-pent by the large attendance of dancers. Music was supplied by Messrs J. Speight and Merwood, while the duties of M s.C. were discharged by Messrs Mawhitiey and Speight.
