MOTOR-CAR. AND GIG COLLIDE

CONDITION OF INJURED MAN

An accident attended with serious reKU jt-J occurred near Shannon on Saturday night, when a motor-car and a gig came into collision. Mr Hugh Macintosh, of Makerna, was driving the motor-car along the Shannon road towards his home, when suddenly a horse drawing a gig appeared in view and, before the brakes could be implied, an accident occurred, a shaft of dm gig passing through the wind-screen. Macintosh and Davidson were speedily conveyed to the Palmeiston North I lospital. , On making enquiries this afternoon a “Standard” reporter was informed that Mr Davidson had not recovered consciousness and his condition was critical, Mr Macintosh, it was stated, was showing simis of improvement, but lie would undergo a slight operation later in the day.
